Materials, delivery & care
Where the furniture comes from, how it reaches you, what is guaranteed, and how to keep it in one piece. This is sample copy for the template — replace it with your own policies.
Materials
Timber is European oak, ash, or beech from forests with a restocking plan, dried to 8–10% moisture before it is machined. Where a piece is solid we say so; where it is veneered we say that too.
Textiles are wool, linen, or a wool-and-recycled-polyester blend. Frames are mortise-and-tenon or dowelled hardwood — no chipboard, no staples holding a leg on.
The workshops
Every piece is made by one of four workshops we visit at least once a year: two in Portugal, one in Lithuania, and one in the Netherlands. They are family businesses between six and forty people.
We publish which workshop makes which piece on request. If a workshop cannot tell us where its timber came from, we stop using it.
Delivery
- Two-person delivery to the room of your choice, 5–10 working days from order.
- Free on orders over $500. Below that, delivery is $45.
- We take the packaging away with us unless you ask us not to.
- Upholstery and tables need a lift or a ground-floor door; tell us at checkout and we will bring the right crew.
Returns
Thirty days from delivery. Live with the piece in your room — that is the only way to know whether it works. If it does not, we collect it and refund the full amount, including the original delivery.
Made-to-order finishes and anything marked as a one-off are excluded. We will always tell you before you buy.
Care & repairs
Frames and joinery carry a ten-year guarantee. Covers, glides, webbing, and fittings can be ordered individually for the life of the piece, so a spill or a house move is a repair rather than a replacement.
Solid timber wants a wipe with a damp cloth and a re-oil every year or two; wool covers want a vacuum and an occasional 30°C wash. Send us a photograph of anything that looks wrong and we will tell you what to do.
