Fieldnote

Who we are

Fieldnote is a small independent publication about the built world. This page is sample copy for the template — replace it with your own.

How we work

Four writers and one editor, none of us full time. We publish two or three pieces a month, and we would rather publish one good report than five quick ones.

Every story is reported from a place we went to, or from documents we read ourselves. We do not publish press releases dressed as reporting, and we do not run sponsored articles.

Editorial policy

We take no money from the companies we cover. Travel is paid for by the publication. Where a writer has any relationship with a subject — a past employer, a family connection, a paid commission — it is declared at the foot of the article.

Quotes are checked back with the person who said them before publication, for accuracy rather than approval. We do not grant copy approval.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Email [email protected] with the article and the correction. Substantive corrections are noted at the foot of the piece, with the date they were made.

Silent edits are for typos only.
